Business rates and hardship relief from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)

For businesses that had no, or restricted, access to their premises over an extended period  following the tragedy (including Baseline Studios, Silchester Road and Blechynden Street rail arches):

  • No business rates to pay from 1 June 2017 to 28 January 2018
  • Any arrears prior to June 2017 will be written off. Businesses that have seen a reduction in trade since the tragedy can apply to RBKC for hardship relief

All business premises on the Council’s database that are within the inner cordon map of the Grenfell site are having automatic rate relief applied and are being written to about their rates.

To apply for hardship relief, download an application form here: www.rbkc.gov.uk/business-and-enterprise/business-rates/relief-and-discounts/hardship-relief

For any queries regarding the application form, please contact the Council’s Policy and Control Team on 020 7361 3276 / 2539 / 2598 or email ltclient@rbkc.gov.uk
